Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #10 (ENFORCEABLE) (7-2) - This strong finisher won the G3 Lecomte Stakes here going 8.5 furlongs Jan. 18, then was away slowly before rallying to finish 2nd in the Risen Star (G2) at nine furlongs Feb. 15. He'll need a trouble free trip to prevail, but there's plenty of speed signed on that will help his style out, and the additional 1/16th of a mile of this stakes is in his favor.
nd pick: #13 (Silver State) (6-1) - He's one of two entered by Steve Asmussen, and the pair race uncoupled. He's finished right behind 'Enforceable' in his last pair and has worked a very fast six furlongs here in 1:11.60 heading into this attempt. A $50K son of 'Hard Spun,' he's a win candidate at a square price.
rd pick: #9 (Portos) (8-1) - From the Pletcher barn, he ships from New York where he had a very wide trip when finishing 3rd in Aqueduct's Withers Stakes (G3) going nine furlongs Feb. 1. A home bred by 'Tapit,' he's worked four times at the Palm Beach Downs Center for this attempt, and the colt should have no problem with this distance.
th pick: #4 (Chestertown) (15-1) - The second of the Asmussen trained pair, he rallied strongly to miss by a 'neck' here facing weaker Feb. 15. This New York-bred is clearly improving, and note that this son of 'Tapit' sold for $2,000,000 as a 2yo in training a year ago at Ocala.
th pick: #11 (Ny Traffic) (10-1) - He's been much improved since joining the barn of Saffie Joseph late last year. He was an easy winner going 8.5 furlongs over weaker on Jan. 11 at Gulfstream, then missed by just over a length in the local Risen Star (G2) on Feb. 15. Working fast, he has blinkers on, and is in the mix.
