Top pick: #6 (VICAR'S IN TROUBLE) (4-1) - He ran a very good race in the "Risen Star" stakes on Feb. 22 which 7 of today's 10 runners exit. Colt had a tough outside post (13th of 14), raced very wide through-out, and held gamely to finish third. Working well at Gulfstream for this, stalker draws a better slot and gets a slight edge in a very deep field.
nd pick: #9 (In Trouble) (4-1) - Lightly-raced colt ships down from New York where he finished a solid 3rd of 9, beaten only a 1/2 length to the undefeated "Samratt" in the (G3) "Gotham" stakes on March 1st. It was his first since late Sept., first around two-turns, and he's worked well at Palm Meadows heading into this.
rd pick: #10 (Albano) (9-2) - He was beaten a "nose" here in the "Risen Star" on Feb. 22 in a strong pace-setting effort from the rail post. Working fast locally for this, he moves from the inside to the outside starting slot. Hard-hitter should be involved from start-to-finish.
th pick: #1 (Intense Holiday) (2-1) - Strong finisher rallied to win the "Risen Star" and has been working fast since. The "figure" he earned that day is the "highest" any of these has attained and there's no question that he'll handle this 1 1/8th mile trip. Improving colt must be left in the mix.
th pick: #8 (Rise Up) (10-1) - The speed of the speed, he tired in the "Risen Star" after fighting his rider for the first 6-furlongs. His connectios say he's going right to the top today and he's proven tough if able to clear off by himself.
