Top pick: #5 (VICTORY COLORS) (4-1) - He's one of two entered by trainer Keith Bourgeois and the pair race un-coupled. Grey gelding has been competitive in three straight at this level and distance and finished second in his latest April 24th. Gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #7 (Hawaakom) (2-1) - He ships from Oaklawn where he was sharp in two of three when facing tougher fields. Gelding was a winner there for a $30K tag Jan 30, then had no chance in a follow up start at this level March 15. He had the 11-post that afternoon on a muddy surface and race should be vied as a throw out. A strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #3 (Mysterious Circle) (6-1) - The second of the Bourgeois runners, he's moving way up in class first off a claim (18% for the barn). Since last Nov., he's gone 8-4-1-1 when facing weaker, but he has good early speed that makes him a threat despite the big move up in class.
4th pick: #1 (Gabby's Toga) (12-1) - Consistent facing cheaper, he was a winner here going a mile for a $20K tag April 23rd. Speed/stalker has the rail, is in good form, and can't be completely eliminated.
