Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #8 (G'S TURN) (5-1) - Colt ships from the Fair Grounds where he finished 2nd twice in four starts on the grass. He had broken is maiden on the Delta Downs dirt just prior to heading to New Orleans and gets a slight edge here.
2nd pick: #2 (R K Gee) (5-2) - The morning line and probable favorite, he broke his maiden by 9.5 lengths at this distance for a $15K tag March 18 at the Fair Grounds. It was only his third start, first around two-turns, and this $150,000 son of 'Bodemeister' is an obvious win candidate.
3rd pick: #5 (Spiritual Warfare) (9-2) - Very lightly raced colt is racing second back from a six-month layoff and is trying a two-turn distance for the first time. He raced evenly after being slammed around at the break in his return sprint at the Fair Grounds March 21, and race can be viewed as a 'toss.' Sharp last year in both starts as a 2yo, he's dangerous in this spot.
4th pick: #4 (In Charge Halo) (10-1) - Speedy state bred finished a pace-setting 3rd at this level and distance March 29 at the Fair Grounds. Much improved since blinkers went on Feb. 16, he should be involved from gate-to-wire at a square price.
