Top pick: #4 (SMOOTH SALUTE) (3-1) - Filly pressed and weakened late to finish fourth when facing tougher here on the grass April 23rd. It was her first off a 45 day freshening and she's brought back quickly, drops in class, and goes turf to dirt.
2nd pick: #7 (Proud Princess) (9-2) - Mare was an easy winner at Delta Downs racing at this tag Jan. 31 to clear the 2l condition. She followed that up by tiring for a $15K claiming price at the same track Feb. 27. Freshened up since, she's working very fast and had a bullet half-mile breeze at Louisiana Downs April 25th.
3rd pick: #5 (Shoot the Drone) (7-2) - Speed/stalker exits the same April 23rd grass race as "Smooth Salute" and was two lengths back of that rival at the finish. It was her first off an Allen Landry claim and he drops her down and moves her back to the dirt.
4th pick: #2 (Dancing Blaze) (5-1) - Consistent speedster has been freshened up since and easy wire-to-wire win facing weaker at the Fair Grounds March 2nd. It was a career best overall and she earned the highest figure that any of these has ever run. Wisely given some time to rest, she's done well here in the past (3-1-1-1).
