Top pick: #5 (WARRIOR ELITE) (7-5) - She enters off a second-place finish here at this tag going 7-furlongs on April 25th. $50K yearling by "Majestic Warrior" is in a winning barn (Al Stall Jr.), meets a weak field, and speed/stalker is much the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #3 (Lacie's Quest) (4-1) - Daughter of "Half Ours" has finished second in both starts at this tag and raced evenly in her other outing facing state-bred special weights. She ran second here on May 2nd in her first since Feb. 27 and she's a dangerous foe for "Warrior Elite" to contend with.
3rd pick: #6 (This Way Jane) (6-1) - Debuting filly is in a capable barn (Sam Breaux) and has some fine local drills on view. Home-bred is capable of impacting, but will need to be a runner to defeat the top two selections.
4th pick: #4 (Autobesouthern) (8-1) - No-speed type rallied to finish fourth when sprinting at the Fair Grounds on March 19th at this tag, then showed nothing after a "troubled" start here on the grass facing tougher April 17th. Drops back down and she would love a fast and/or contested pace to develop.
