He dueled while wide and held his ground until mid-stretch and today cuts back in distance and draws a much better starting slot.
2nd pick: #1 (Captain James C) (7-2) - He has fine early speed and last out finished 6th of 13, beaten 5 1/2 lengths while losing a lot of ground while avoiding a fallen jockey. Has the rail, gets blinkers on, and is a win candidate.
3rd pick: #5 (Swamp Shaker) (5-1) - Veteran maiden tends to race evenly and comes into this off a fourth-place finish here racing for twice this tag on June 8th. In shape and a late threst.
4th pick: #4 (Littlebreezyday) (12-1) - Home-bred showed some speed before tiring badly when debuting here at this level and distance on May 30th. He was 86-1 that day so the expectations were limited. However, any speed is dangerous at this tag and gelding is in a capable barn (Sam Breaux).
