Re-claimed that evening by Bob Diodoro after losing him for one race, gelding tired at this level last out. Lightly raced 3yo draws well and I like that leading rider Tim Thornton is back aboard. The top selection, but make sure yo box your wagers in this competitive contest.
2nd pick: #1 (Mine Inspector) (4-1) - He ships from Churchill where he was competitive in one of two sprinting at this level. He had problems at the break in each and draws a nice inside post as he stretches out just a bit in distance.
3rd pick: #5 (Thunder Box) (9-2) - Speedy sort moves up in price after finishing 2nd here at this trip for a $5,000 tag Nov 27. Claimed that afternoon by Isal Gonzalez, trainer has won with 14 of 44 (34%) off that transaction in 2018-19 and this gelding is in the win mix.
4th pick: #8 (Chroniqueur) (5-2) - Strong finisher shortens back up after missing by just under a length here at this level going a mile Dec 11. Capable colt would benefit if the pace were fast and/or contested.
