Top pick: #1 (WISESTAR) (2-1) - Speedy filly comes off a career best when she finished a pace-chasing third here facing tougher on Jan. 30. Has the rail, drops down a bit, and speed/stalker is the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #3 (Vel Crow) (3-1) - Dangerous rival, filly was an impressive gate-to-wire maiden winner here at this distance Jan. 24. Lightly raced, she has room for upside and is a win candidate.
3rd pick: #6 (Primal Way) (5-1) - She chased and tired last out racing on a "muddy" surface that I don't think she cared for. Capable, and you get trainer Steve Asmussen at a square price.
4th pick: #7 (Valid Rachel) (9-2) - Another who comes from a top barn (Tom Amoss) and this filly will be cutting back in distance after a wire-to-wire maiden win here going 6.5 furlongs on Jan. 23. Well-bred filly (by "Valid Expectations") must be left in the mix.
