Top pick: #1 (GANNON THE CANNON) (8-1) - He tired dadly last out when heavily favored racing here at this level and distance on Feb. 9. Trainer Kark Broberg has rested him since and gelding has a nice pair of 5-furlong breezes heading into this assignment. Has the rail and I like his chances.
2nd pick: #8 (Montaguska) (4-1) - He's been freshened up since a poor effort here in late January. He'd finished a close up third prior to that sub-par run and he does have some early speed. In the mix.
3rd pick: #9 (Catomatic) (3-1) - Another coming off a late January freshening and this gelding by "Cuvee" also has early speed. Gelding has the highest "figures" of this bunch and is a win threat woth his best.
4th pick: #7 (Sargent Rain) (6-1) - Debuting gelding is in a good barn (Dave Banks) and 3-year-old has a bullet half-mile gate breeze(best of 28)at Evangeline Downs on the morning of March 9th. If he runs to that drill, the rest could be in trouble.
