Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #8 (STOUT MARGARET) (9-2) - Well bred filly has raced evenly in her first pair here at this level. She was bet down to 7-2 last out and caught a field dominated by the top two finishers. From a winning barn (Scott Gelner) and I think this one is ready for a competitive effort at a square price.
2nd pick: #1 (Air Guitar Star) (3-1) - Speedy sort comes off a solid third place finish here Dec. 29. She raced wide from an outside post and gamely held down the show spot. Three-year-old finished in front of 'Stout Margaret' that evening and is an obvious win candidate.
3rd pick: #9 (Sidney's Sonata) (5-1) - She missed by a 'neck' here when debuting in a five-furlong sprint at this level Dec. 9. However, in her follow up race twenty days later she tired badly to finish far behind both 'Stout Margaret' and 'Air Guitar Star.' Can factor with a repeat of her first attempt.
4th pick: #3 (Pretty Production) (12-1) - Longshot is from a craft trainer (Henry Johnson Jr.). Filly was never involved when debuting here going five-furlongs Jan. 12. Home bred took some betting action and is brought back quickly and stretches out in distance.
