Top pick: #1 (BIG BOYS IN TOWN) (2-1) - The probable favorite, he's finished second in both local starts and they've been tougher "open" maiden special weight. He has the rail, comes off a career best, and moves back in with fellow La.-breds this afternoon.
nd pick: #9 (Carson City Cat) (15-1) - "Live" longshot, he took a lot of betting action when debuting at this level in a large field on Sept. 8 at Evangeline Downs. Gelding broke sharply and tired after dueling thru fast fractions. Freshened up since, breeder/owner/trainer Doris Hebert worked him a sharp half-mile from the gate here Feb. 9.
rd pick: #3 (Six K Vow) (4-1) - Colt has finished third here in a pair of starts at this level and in his other he raced evenly following a "troubled" break facing "open" company. Must be left in the mix.
th pick: #10 (Go On Now) (12-1) - He showed good early speed before tiring in his first pair last summer at Louisiana Downs, then showed little when racing here Oct. 20. On the sidelines since, he can factor if ready.
th pick: #2 (Cajun Monkey) (20-1) - Price play tired at this level going a mile when debuting here on Feb. 2. Longshot has a bullet work since and owner/trainer Jorge Lara will cut him back in distance.
