Top pick: #4 (WATZ HIS NAME) - Just missed (a "nose") at this level last out in what was a very strong effort. In a solid barn (Mike Stidham) and trainer's stock tend to stay sharp once he gets them in shape. The pick from just off the top.
2nd pick: #2 (El Apache) - He finished a fast-closing second racing for $50K at Tampa Bay on Feb. 17. Lightly-raced five-year-old is coming off a freshening since that day, but he's run well off of them in the past. Gelding finished second on this course twice last year. Win threat.
3rd pick: #9 (Solar Surprise) - Looks like the main speed and he should clear off without a "tussle" today. Capable at this level and he'll be making his third start back off a five-month layoff. Contender on the front end.
4th pick: #7 (Rubicon) - "Prepped" in a hurdle race by his trainer Tom Voss no speed runner has some finishing punch and could get involved enough late to hit the tri or super.
