2nd pick: #3 (Hoppala) (9-2) - Irish import ships in from Laurel where he finished fifth of 12, beaten 2.5 lengths there going 8.5 furlongs April 15. It was his first race in No. America and first in eight months. Well bred 3-year-old was competitive in all four starts in is native country and was in a top barn (Dermot Weld). A strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #2 (Kid Jeter) (7-2) - He's been sharp in his last two grass races and ran third here at this level going shorter June 11. Gelding by 'Lemon Drop Kid' has more positional speed than most and is bred to enjoy this longer trip.
4th pick: #9 (Beneficiary) (8-1) - Home bred stretches out in distance following an even effort here going shorter. Trainer Arnaud Delacour is six for nine at this meet, is adding blinkers (22%), and he wins at a 24% rate second time out.
