Top pick: #5 (ROSE BRIER) (4-1) - Speedy gelding by "Mizzen Mast" ships down from Monmouth where she raced well in both starts since coming off a 13 month layoff in early June. Good barn (Jane Cibelli) has him stringing starts together and puts his blinkers back on after a one race absence. 4-year-old will be tough on the front end.
nd pick: #10 (Art Class) (8-1) - He ran very poorly last out as a "luke warm" favorite on a "soft" turf course facing tougher at Colonial Downs on June 8th. Gelding by grass champ "Artie Schiller" probably didn't care for the footing that day and trainer Kevin Boniface drops him back down for this attempt. In his only previous claimer, 4-year-old ran second at Aqueduct on April 4th.
rd pick: #8 (Solo Rock) (3-1) - Very lightly-raced Augustin home-bred ships from Penn National where he rallied to finish second at this tag and trip on June 8th. It was a career best and this 5-year-old by "Rock Hard Ten" is an obvious contender.
th pick: #3 (Harmony Bay) (20-1) - Longshot has shown visible improvement since moving to the grass following hsi return from a nine month layoff in late May. Very capable of being competitive against this group at a big price.
th pick: #6 (Scrapple) (6-1) - Home-bred closed fast to finish 3rd of 10, beaten just under a length when debuting at this level in a 5-furlong grass sprint at Pimlico on June 8th. Trainer Ann Merryman adds lasix and stretches him out in distance for his second appearance.
