2nd pick: #2 (Malibu Pride) (4-1) - Daughter of "Malibu Moon" sold for $100K as a 2-year-old in training three months ago and is in a capable barn (Tim Ritchey). Filly has a pair of fine back-to-back half-mile gate breezes and Ritchey has won with three of seven first-time starters over the past 20 months.
3rd pick: #3 (Da'blues Dancer) (8-1) - Price play had a solid half-mile breeze here Aug. 16 and trainer McLean Robertson has won with 14 of 58 (24%) debuting runners over the past 20 months.
4th pick: #6 (Discreetly Deb) (8-1) - In a very good small barn (Alex Delp), but one that deals mostly in older types. However, this debuting filly by "Discreetly Mine" had a bullet three-furlong breeze here just six days ago. Don't just ignore her.
