Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #6 (FELIX THE FOX) (3-1) - This well-bred 4yo has been competitive in five straight starts and moves back to the grass after finishing 2nd here at this level and distance in an 'off the turf' contest Aug 17. His maiden win came on the turf at Tampa Bay Downs June 1 and his stalking style fits with these. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #5 (Palace Kitten) (8-1) - Longshot finished far behind 'Felix the Fox' last out but is clearly a much better horse when on the turf. A 4yo son of 'Kitten's Joy', speed/stalker broke his maiden here on the grass in his previous start July 13 and is a threat at a square price.
3rd pick: #7 (Fortuity) (2-1) - The morning line favorite, he raced evenly last out at Churchill facing maidens. However, he's no longer win-less as he was awarded a victory from earlier this year when he finished 2nd at the Fair Grounds when the winner tested positive for a medication violation. Well bred and lightly raced, he's working fast at Fair Hill and is in the win mix.
4th pick: #9 (Repeated Promise) (10-1) - He ships from Penn National where he broke his maiden Aug 14 in what was only his second start. He'll need to improve his figure today, but that's entirely possible for this Pa. bred.
