Top pick: #4 (SLEWSVILLE) - Lightly-raced 4-year-old finished second at this price on July 20 and was claimed by trainer Jamie Ness that afternoon. New man brought her back 10 days later and she finished a pace-chasing second facing tougher and has been freshened-up since. Working nicely for her come-backer and Ness wins at a 31% rtae off of long layoffs. The top selection.
2nd pick: #1a (Faster) - She's coupled in the wagering with No. 1 "Fo Fo Fo" and only one will go. Veteran turf mare has been freshened-up since August 5 when she won at this price at Penn national to clear the 2l condition. Excellent Phill Park-based barn (Phil Aristone) ships her in and grey 6-year-old brings her rider with her.
3rd pick: #7 (Zaniah) - Very fast filly was very sharp in Florida in her first three turf starts, but has run poorly in her last pair. She's working very fast for her first start since July 4 and is in the barn of leading trainer Juan Vazquez. Her speed must be respected.
4th pick: #5 (Raised With Pride) - She was a winner at this price on this course to get her second win and trainer Larry Jones has given her a 70 day break since that score. Working fine and one-run type would love a fast, and/or contested pace.
