Top pick: #7 (PALESTRINA) (2-1) - Darley home bred ships in from Saratoga where she tired late when facing a tougher field going longer. A positive effort and this daughter of "Medaglia d'Oro" can take this shorter contest from on or just off the lead.
2nd pick: #1 (Chiffonade) (3-1) - Very dangerous foe, she finished a close up fourth here at this level on July 10th after breaking from a tough post (11th of 11). She moves to the rail, has Lasix added, and is a strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #3 (Penumbra) (6-1) - Nicely bred filly sold for $270,000 as a weanling back in 2011 and has been brought along slowly by trainer Graham Motion. She raced wide before tiring when debuting here going a mile Aug. 14. Daughter of "Malibu Moon" is switched to the turf for this attempt and I think she'll much more competitive.
4th pick: #2 (Azha) (12-1) - Home bred daughter of "Tapit" is from the same barn (Mike Matz) as "Chiffonade" but has shown little ability to this point. On the sidelines since July 7th, she's working well at Fair Hill and is trying the turf for the first time.
