Top pick: #6 (MOON MAP) (5-2) - Mare ships down from Belmont where she tired in a pair of sprints facing tougher. Daughter of "Malibu Moon" has blinkers added and will be stretching out in distance in her third back from an 11 month layoff. In a career soft spot this afternoon and I like her chances.
2nd pick: #1 (Miss Andorra) (3-1) - From the barn of the leading trainer at this meet (Juan Vazquez), filly stalked, bid to reach the front, and weakened late to run second here on June 30th. Nice effort and she breaks from the rail which is always a plus at this track. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #4 (Mine o' Mine) (6-1) - Nicely bred and lightly-raced, daughter of "Mineshaft" comes off an even effort here going 6-furlongs on June 21st. It was her first in just over six months and she was claimed that afternoon by owner/trainer Kieron Magee for $7500. New barn is (23 for 69, 33%)first off the claim and Magee adds blinkers, stretches her out in distance, and gives her a big rider upgrade. Price play.
4th pick: #5 (Goodnight Angel) (4-1) - Marylamd-based filly finished third here in her local debut on June 30th. Only a length back of "Andorra" that day and this daughter of "Touch Gold" would love a fast and/or contested pace to develop.
