(# 7) Transvaal Scottish - Will be making his third straight start for a different trainer. Has competed in large fields, unlike most in here, and has met with some success. Blinkers went on two back and colt improved right away. Nice work on the 27th for new trainer Hendricks.

(# 4) Bond - Good speed, and nice figures earned in last pair. Fields were six and four in that pair, and maybe are a bit flattering.

(# 6) Verlander - Ran fourth in debut, but only four competed. In the leading trainer's barn (Peter Miller), he was beaten 2 1/2 lengths by Bond in that race.
