(#'s 1 and 1A) GLORIA JEANNE and PEACE BY PEACE - Both of these California-bred fillies have started over this surface at the maiden special-weight level. They are dropping into a maiden claimer for state-breds here, and trainer Martin Jones who trains Gloria Jeanne (the fillies have common ownership, but different trainers) is seven for his last 15 when dropping down to this level. Peace by Peace has displayed good speed in all starts to date, and trainer Howard Zucker adds Lasix today. Powerful duo, but either can stand on their own.

(# 9) Wild Eyed Passion - Debuts for the Anthony Saavedra barn off a series of very quick works at Yavapai Downs in Northern Arizona. Trainer is 0-for-12 with first-timers over the past 18 months.

(# 4) Blazeitgirl - Has shown some speed and taken some money in a pair of "special weight" starts. Drops into a claimer, and would expect a much better result.

(# 2) Silver Chai - First-timer draws the tricky rail, but has some fine works over the new surface here for the debut run.
