Top pick: #4 (FIRING LINE) (5-2) - Impressive debut saw him break slowly then rally while wide to miss by a 1/2 length going 6-furlongs on the Santa Anita dirt on Oct. 25th. Heavily bet that afternoon, he's been working fast since, and is the horse to beat if he handles the "poly."
nd pick: #9 (Big Hat Charlie) (8-1) - He also took some money when debuting on Nov. 2nd at Santa Anita. Gelding by "Indian Charlie" chased a fast pace while wide and tired in the final furlong to check in fourth. In a solid second out barn (Jeff Bonde, 20%), and this $100K purchase can factor at a square price.
rd pick: #10 (Vicious) (12-1) - Another by "Indian Charlie", he exits the same Oct. 25th contest as "Firing Line." Colt tired after setting a pressured pace and finished 6 1/2 lengths back of that rival. Working well since and a threat at long odds.
th pick: #11 (Passinaflash) (12-1) - Colt ran evenly when debuting at this level and distance at Santa Anita. The race was won by daylight, and this colt was only four out of the place spot. Can impact at a big price.
th pick: #13 (Just Kidding) (20-1) - He "reared" at the break in his debut and raced evenly while only two back of "Passinaflash." Don't just ignore this big longshot.
