Top pick: #1 (NAVARRE) (5-1) - English bred takes a big drop in class and will shortening up in distance for this attempt. Gelding has the ground saving rail and stretch runner should get a solid pace to rally into.
nd pick: #10 (Omar Little) (7-2) - Lightly-raced he's gone 2-1-1-0 since being claimed by Mike Puype and going in for a subsequent four month layoff. This is his first on a synthetic surface and he's a big threat if he takes to it.
rd pick: #8 (Sir Barclay) (3-1) - Home bred is racing third back from an eight month layoff and first off a private trainer change to Vann Belvoir (19% with new arrivals). Gelding showed fine speed before tiring last out facing tougher and Belvoir brings him back quickly and drops him into a career soft spot.
th pick: #11 (Aspirational) (8-1) - Longshot lost all chance in his latest when he "hopped up" at the break July 19th. He was far back of "Barclay" but it was his first in 6-months and he had a legitimate excuse. Don't just dismiss this dropping speed/stalker.
th pick: #9 (Secret Wishes) (6-1) - String finisher rallied from far back to finish third here at this level going 6.5-furlongs July 26th. He's worked since but this shorter distance does not work in his favor. Stretch threat.
