Top pick: #4 (RED OUTLAW) (2-1) - Undefeated (six for six), speed/stalker has won four times on synthetic surfaces and twice on the grass. He gets his biggest test to date as 3yo takes on a solid field of professional sprinters. Gelding by "Tribal Rule" still has room for upside, and we'll find out a lot more about him in this spot.
2nd pick: #6 (Big Macher) (5-2) - Hard hitting gelding rallied following a "stumbling" start to finish ninth of 12, beaten just over four lengths in the "Breeder's Cup Sprint" (G1) at Santa Anita on Nov. 1st. Working fast before and after that contest, he won the G1 "Bing Crosby" here going 6-furlongs in late July. Strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #8 (Rousing Sermon) (10-1) - No speed type has been freshened up since early July, and strong finisher should get a fast and/or contested pace to close into.
4th pick: #1 (Celebrity Status) (15-1) - He enters this off a career best "figure" when beaten by a "nose" facing weaker at this trip at Santa Anita Oct. 31st. Capable on "poly" (5-2-1-1), and he draws a nice inside post for his stalking style.
