Premium Pick

Top pick: #2 (ALLTHELEAVESRBROWN) (7-2) - Gelding is going turf to dirt and taking a big drop in class for his second back off a long absence (10 1/2 months). Three-year-old by 'Big Brown' tired late after racing close to the pace facing much tougher on the local grass Aug 6. It's getting very late in this meet and the sizable drop indicates the barn means business.

2nd pick: #11 (Ladie's Man) (4-1) - Speed/stalker stretches out around 2-turns for the first time. Grey gelding missed by a 1/2 length here at this tag going 7-furlongs Aug 20. A career best overall, he's a strong win candidate, from on or just off the lead.

3rd pick: #6 (Attack) (6-1) - Blinkers go on and this 3-year-old is halving in price for this attempt. He raced both wide and evenly going 7-furlongs for a $40K claiming price Aug 15 and has been competitive at this longer distance in the past. Dangerous.

4th pick: #4 (Vartan) (6-1) - He might be the main speed. Stretch out sprinter has finished third in three straight here at this tag. His finishing times have been on the slow side, so he'll an uncontested early lead for anything more than a small slice.

5th pick: #8 (Lucky Logan) (9-2) - One of two entered by trainer Pete Miller and the pair race uncoupled. Getting better going shorter, he's stretching out around two-turns for the first time. Gelding finished third of 12 at this tag going 5.5-furlongs Aug 13 and earned a career best figure that day. Dangerous with any further improvement.
