Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #5 (AND THEN SOME) (7-2) - Gelding is dropping in class, switching from turf to dirt, and is shortening up in distance. He has some early speed and has finished fourth in his previous pair on the main track. Both blinkers and Talamo are added by trainer Mike Machowsky.
nd pick: #7 (Discreetlyhumorme) (10-1) - Well backed when debuting at Los Alamitos Sept 17, he was racing just off the lead when he stumbled and fell. Freshened up since, trainer Mark Glatt has him working fast, removes his blinkers, and drops him in class. A threat if he can overcome the bad experience in his first outing.
rd pick: #3 (Little Mustard) (5-1) - He's been freshened up since finishing third in both starts during the month of September. Well backed in both, he has some early speed. Trainer Pete Eurton wins at a 24% rate off of this type of layoff.
th pick: #11 (Nusret) (6-1) - He has early speed but has lost ground in all five outings during the stretch run. He ran a career best when finishing second here at this tag going 6.5-furlongs Nov 7. He's worked fast since and draws a nice outside post to use his early speed from.
th pick: #13 (Redneck Crazy) (5-1) - Freshened up since Sept 26, he finished a solid second that afternoon at Santa Anita racing at this tag. Working steadily for his return and he should factor in this very competitive finale.
