2nd pick: #8 (Floral Essence) (8-1) - This debuting daughter of 'Candy Ride' is working steadily and is bred to like the grass. Trainer Cliff Sise, Jr. has won with 3 of 12 (25%) first-time-starters over the past 19 months, and this filly looks set to be competitive.
3rd pick: #4 (Mama Rama) (10-1) - Longshot ships from Emerald Downs where she rallied to finish 3rd when debuting in a dirt sprint on July 1. Trainer Andy Lerner switches her to the grass and stretches her out in distance. I think she'll factor at a square price.
4th pick: #1 (Ivy League) (3-1) - This debuting homebred by 'Medaglia d'Oro' has some sharp works showing and is from the barn of 'Hall of Fame' member Rick Mandella. Filly has a tricky inside post, but she can negate that minus with an alert beginning.
