Top pick: #9 (MAGIC NUMBER) (9-2) - Filly continues to train fast, but has yet to bring that morning form to the afternoon. She gets some weight off, has a very quick half-mile gate breeze Aug. 17 and will be cutting back in distance.
nd pick: #12 (J K's Mischief) (6-1) - She cuts back in distance after setting quick fractions and tiring here at this tag going a mile on July 19th. Working fast, and her latest drill was a quick 5-furlong breeze from the gate 11 days ago.
rd pick: #3 (Maddog Maddie) (8-1) - Longshot has good early speed and gets a switch in riders to the aggressive Pat Valenzuela. Another that's working fast and owner/trainer/breeder Mark Glatt has her set for a big effort.
th pick: #6 (Make More Money) (7-2) - The field's "wild card" ships in from Arapahoe Park in Colorado where she finished a pace-setting second on June 23rd. She has a new trainer in Jeff Mullins (22% with new arrivals), and he'll add blinkers as this daughter of "Marini Martini" runs off a 65 day break.
th pick: #1 (Huera Bonita) (8-1) - Improving filly has a good late kick and has finished third in two straight at this tag. The faster the pace, the better her chances.
