Top pick: #4 (HERBIES THUNDER) (7-2) - Well backed when debuting here at this level July 30, he raced both wide and evenly while finishing 5th of 12, beaten 4 1/2 lengths. Good barn (Rich Baltas) brings him back in three weeks and stretches him out a furlong.
2nd pick: #6 (Show and Tell ) (3-1) - He's been sharp in four of his five starts and enters off a rallying second-place finish here Aug 7. He earned a career best 'figure' and is a very strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #7 (Ladies Man) (6-1) - Speedy and lightly-raced, he moves off the rail after tiring last out after being sent hard at the break from his inside draw. The move out in the gate is a plus and he should be involved from start-to-finish at a square price.
4th pick: #12 (Black Tie) (6-1) - Four-year-old has been competitive in four of five since coming off a 17-month layoff May 1. One-run type draws a nice outside post at this distance and is a late threat.
5th pick: #11 (Better Luck) (10-1) - On the sidelines since Feb 21, he's working fast locally for his return and may get a piece of this at a big price if ready.
