Top pick: #3 (SPIRIT OF TEN) (9-2) - Filly enters off a career best when she chased the pace while racing wide and held to finish 3rd of 12 in a contest with a "daylight" winner. She had a tough outside post that day, draws a better slot, has an impressive half-mile bullet work on July 27, and is racing third back from a 7 1/2 month layoff. Lots of things to like.
nd pick: #9 (Full of Spice) (7-2) - Speed/stalker exits the same last race as "Spirit of Ten" and was just under a length better than her at the finish. That earned her a career best figure and effort came off an 8-month layoff. Obvious win candidate.
rd pick: #4 (Stored Attaq) (10-1) - She was also in the same last race as the top two selections and tired badly after running near the pace until the 1/4 pole. It was her first since arriving from Pimlico and expect her to be much more competitive today.
th pick: #5 (Swiss Perfection) (6-1) - Speedy filly drops down a bit after finishing 4th in two straight facing a bit tougher. Working well for this and it's noted that she's taken serious money in 4 of her 5 starts.
th pick: #1 (Bar Car) (6-1) - She raced evenly following a slow start when finishing 3rd when debuting at Los Alamitos on July 10. Has the rail, has a fine recent work, and she can impact with an alert getaway.
