Racing in a G1 stakes, daughter of 'Smart Strike' finished a close up third to 'Stellar Wind' or 'Vale Dori', both of whom would crush this group. Only real negative is the outside post.
2nd pick: #4 (Mended) (4-1) - Busy filly was claimed at Golden Gate Fields by trainer John Martin for $12,500 Jan. 6. She's won seven in a row since then, six on the Tapeta surface there and her latest came here July 27. She earned a career best Byer figure that day and 4-year-old by 'Broken Vow' is dangerous in her first ever stakes attempt.
3rd pick: #5 (Chalon) (5-1) - Lightly-raced and fast from the gate, she's won three of her five starts, all sprinting on the dirt. $110K purchase won a $150,000 stakes at Belmont June 11 and is a threat if allowed to get an easy early lead in the first half-mile.
4th pick: #3 (Street Surrender) (7-2) - Stalker moves back to the dirt after tiring here in a grass stakes July 21. In her previous start, 4-year-old won a small stakes on the Santa Anita dirt going 8.5 furlongs June 25. Can factor with a repeat of hat effort.
