Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #2 (CAMELOT KITTEN) (3-1) - One of two NYRA shippers from the Chad Brown barn and they give him a strong hand in this $300K contest. Consistent Ramsay home bred has spent his entire career on the grass and has gone 10-5-3-0. Strong finisher has a great record 3-2-1-0 at this nine furlong trip and Irad Ortiz Jr. is in for the mount.
nd pick: #1 (Beach Patrol) (7-2) - The second of the Brown pair, he missed by a 'head' to 'Camelot Kitten' at Belmont Oct. 8 in a G3 stakes. Colt had won the G1 Secretariat Stakes at Arlington Park in his previous start. Working well, he's 2-1-1-0 at this distance.
rd pick: #8 (Hayabusa) (6-1) - Lightly-raced French import was a smashing winner at Keeneland in is No. American debut Oct. 9. He's a perfect two for two since switching to the turf and faces stakes competition for the first time. Must be left in the mix.
th pick: #5 (Free Rose) (5-1) - Tremendously improved since switching to the grass and stretching out in distance, gelding is 6-3-1-2 since the surface change. A double stakes winner on this course, he scored at this distance here in the G2 Twilight Derby Sept. 4. His early speed must be respected.
th pick: #6 (Isotherm) (12-1) - Longshot was nearing his best before his latest, but he had a poor start and wide trip in a $100K stakes at Belmont Oct 23. Stretch runner has talent and John Velazquez has made the trip from New York to ride this colt. Food for thought.
