Top pick: #7 (LOST BUS) (5-2) - The probable favorite, her task was made easier with the scratch of #8 "Line Leader." This home bred by "Latent Heat" was an easy gate-to-wire maiden winner at Santa Anita on May 24th. She was reported to be a runner and did not disappoint those who bet her down to 5-2. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #1 (Really a Princess) (8-1) - One of two maidens entered, she just failed to hold on when debuting on June 30th in the short Oak Tree at Pleasanton meet. Bet down to favoritism that afternoon, she set a quick and pressured pace and held gamely to lose by a 1/2 length. Win candidate at a big price.
3rd pick: #3 (Singing Kitty) (3-1) - Tommy Town home bred looked like a pro when rallying from just off the pace to easily win her debut on June 26th at Santa Anita. She's worked well since and must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #9 (Take Back Spring) (15-1) - The other maiden entered, filly continues to work very fast in the AM, but has yet to show the same talent in the afternoon. In the O'Neill barn and she had an improved effort on July 3rd at Los Alamitos Race Course.
