Top pick: #4 (DANCINTHENIGHTAWAY) (3-1) - Daughter of "Indian Charlie" was an easy wire-to-wire winner when debuting going 6-furlongs on the Santa Anita dirt three weeks ago. Race was run in fast time (1:09 flat), and trainer Mark Glatt brings her back quickly and moves her to the grass. Bred for the surface, and I like her chances.
2nd pick: #8 (Backwoods Belle) (9-2) - Eleven time winner has done so seven times on the dirt, three times on "poly," and once on the grass. Very fast from the gate, and she enters in good form. Dangerous.
3rd pick: #3 (Moving Desert) (4-1) - She raced both wide & evenly going "down the hill" at Santa Anita Oct. 26th. It was a good effort overall, and filly must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #1 (Hanserella) (10-1) - She exits the same Oct. 26th race as "Moving Desert" and ran evenly while 2 1/2 back of that rival. Veteran mare has the rail and is a stretch factor at a big price.
