Top pick: #5 (SIR MACHO) - Grey gelding comes off a career best when he missed by a 1/2 length racing for a $40K tag on the santa Anita turf on June 5th. Race was his first in two months and 3-year-old by "Macho Uno" was claimed that day by Bill Spawr and he has him well spotted in the move back to a "poly" surface.

nd pick: #6 (Romar Success) (5-1) - Lightly-raced gelding is in career best shape and will be stretching out in distance and going turf to "poly." The level is fine and he's gone 2-1-1-0 on synthetic surfaces in the past.

rd pick: #2 (Navarre) (6-1) - Stalker enters in shape and is another stretching out in distance and switching from the grass to a synthetic surface. English bred draws a nice post and was competitive on this course 11 months ago.

th pick: #4 (Jackson Sundown) (8-1) - One of two entered who has won on a synthetic surface in the past ("Romar" is the other). He's been competitive in four straight at this level and is working fast locally for this attempt. Must be left in the mix.

th pick: #10 (Maxx the Giant) (9-2) - He finished second last out at this level on the Santa Anita turf and the figure earned was high. In shape, but he draws a tough post and can factor if he can repeat his form on the "poly."
