Top pick: #8 (ISTANFORD) (2-1) - Many entered in this small stakes are also in tomorrows much richer "Del Mar Oaks"(G1) and there may be some late scratches out of this contest. This speedy filly was an easy wire-to-wire winner here at this distance July 19th when taking the (G2) San Clemente Handicap. Working nicely since and she'll be tough to beat if she goes.
2nd pick: #11 (Wonderfully) (9-2) - One of three Irish imports that are lined up today and this daughter of "Galileo" kept some good company over-seas. A Group 3 winner she has run in nothing but Group 1 and Grade 1 stakes since that time. She has some speed and is a strong win candidate in this spot.
3rd pick: #10 (Soresca) (8-1) - Another of the Irish invaders, she won three straight starts last year in France, but hasn't yet been able to reproduce that form since coming to North America. Speed/stalker has been freshened up since early April and is working steadily for her return. A threat with her best.
4th pick: #1 (Amnesia) (10-1) - The third member coming from Ireland, she won a small grass stake at Santa Rosa on July 26th and draws the rail for this attempt. She needs to do better to challenge the top two selections.
