Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #10 (HIT THE SEAM) (5-2) - This consistent 5yo by 'Square Eddie' missed by a 'neck' at this level and distance Aug. 15 in his first since an easy win in a grass sprint June 13 at Santa Anita. The homebred has gone 7-2-2-2 since last November, draws a nice post for his speed/stalking style, and gets a slight edge in this one.
2nd pick: #12 (Jamming Eddie) (3-1) - He's switching back to the grass and moves in with fellow state-breds following a pair of solid dirt sprints facing tougher 'open' company. Another speed/stalker, he's capable on the turf and is from the barn of leading trainer Peter Miller. A win candidate.
3rd pick: #7 (Offshore Affair) (8-1) - This longshot was a bit rank last out going a mile at this level Aug. 14. He was much sharper in his previous when sprinting and is capable of factoring today at a big price if able to avoid any traffic issues in this large field.
4th pick: #11 (Zipper Mischief) (6-1) - Blinkers go on this stalker, who was just under a length in back of 'Hit the Seam' here Aug. 15. It was his second back following a six-month layoff. And much like 'Offshore Affair,' he's a late threat with a clean trip.
