It was his first race in seven weeks and he was claimed that day for this $16K tag by Vann Belvoir. This 8-year-old has a fine record on 'poly" (17-3-6-3) and most all of those starts came facing tougher. New trainer wins at a 26% rate first off the claim and this veteran is a win candidate.
3rd pick: #5 (Perfect Set) (7-2) - He has back class on these and last out at Santa Anita he finished third when racing for a $25K tag. He's two for six on "poly" and is one for two locally. In the mix.
4th pick: #4 (Fly Blue) (10-1) - Consistent stalker has gone 4-1-2-0 since early August and is a "poly" specialist at 24-3-7-7. He's at his favorite distance 10-3-1-3, and he's finished second in two of three locally. Can factor at a square price.
