Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #3 (WOODFIN) (9-2) - This filly ships from Churchill where she rallied while five-wide to check-in 5th of 10, missing by 5.5 lengths while going nine furlongs in a first-level allowance June 5. She finished 3rd here at this level going shorter last August, and in her follow up at Kentucky Downs, she missed by a 'nose' at this longer trip. I like her chances today.
2nd pick: #2 (Kookie Gal) (5-1) - From the hottest barn on the grounds, Peter Miller, he's 22-6-3-3 at the meet. This homebred moves back to the grass following a poor effort going a mile on the Los Al dirt June 28. 4yo clearly prefers the turf, has more tactical speed than most, and I think she's a threat at a square price.
3rd pick: #7 (Pretty Point) (5-2) - The probable favorite, she rallied to missed by just over a length when going 10 furlongs in a small stakes June 14 at Santa Anita. A 'long-winded' type, she should love this 11-furlong trip, which she's trying for the first time.
4th pick: #6 (Sustro) (6-1) - This 5yo mare rallied into a quick pace to win by a length going a mile against weaker June 5 at Santa Anita. Another that should enjoy this longer distance, she has Drayden Van Dyke aboard, as Mike Smith, who rode this one last out opts for 'Pretty Point.'
