Top pick: #8 (KISS AT MIDNIGHT) (3-1) - One-run type drops in class after finishing second here in a $192K Cal. bred stakes going 7-furlongs July 25. She's worked three times since and draws a nice post for her style. The horse to beat.
nd pick: #9 (Rockin Dorita) (6-1) - Very lightly-raced daughter of 'Rockport Harbor' was a sharp maiden winner going 6-furlongs July 17. It was her first race since debuting May 23 at Santa Anita and a huge step forward off of that effort. Working fast for this and a win threat right back at a square price.
rd pick: #5 (Q'Viva) (8-1) - Consistent sort is moving from turf to dirt and shortening up in distance. She's never won on conventional dirt, but has finished second in two of three starts on it. Fits with these, is in shape, and Bejarano is back aboard after a one race absence.
th pick: #11 (I'm No Patsy) (20-1) - Long shot tired badly last out after a wide trip from a tough outside post going a mile on the grass July 26. Mare had been sharp in her previous pair on the dirt facing weaker and may grab a share at a very big price.
th pick: #2 (Sadie Clare) (3-1) - She rallied to break her maiden here at this distance Aug 7. She did so despite a very slow start and can ill afford that type of mistake against this more talented group. Stretch threat.
