Top pick: #9 (GLORIOUS REBECCA) (5-2) - All or nothing type is racing first off a positive trainer change via a claim. Now with Mike Pender, he drops her down off the purchase price and speedy sort had a bullet half-mile breeze here on July 13th.
2nd pick: #1 (West Ruler) (3-1) - Once classier mare has not seen action since Oct. of 2012. Speed/stalker has the rail, some fine works on her tab, and trainer John Sadler drops her down into a bottom claimer. An obvious win candidate if ready.
3rd pick: #5 (Chippette) (7-2) - She was pulled up after being "bumped" heavily at the break on June 13th at santa Anita. Working well locally for her return, Fla.-bred has a fine record on conventional dirt (14-4-1-2) and has beaten tougher in the past. This will be her first ever on a synthetic surface.
4th pick: #3 (Smil'n From Above) (12-1) - No-speed type does not win very often (2 for 43), but has 19 minor awards to go along with the two victories. The last time she ran on a synthetic surface she miss by a 1/2 length racing for twice this tag at Hollywood park in Dec. The faster the pace, the better her chances.
