Top pick: #6 (PLACE DES VOSGES) (5-1) - 'Long Winded' filly raced both wide and evenly here going a bit shorter July 25. She had a difficult outside post (11th of 12) and has since come back with three solid works. Three-year-old has previous experience at this demanding trip and missed by a 'neck' in both. Can take this with a late move.
nd pick: #10 (Margaret Reay) (7-2) - A strong win candidate and I almost made her the top choice. Lightly-raced, she's well bred, and in a good barn (Tom Proictor). Stalker was stakes-placed as a 2-year-old and is back in shape following a pair of layoffs. I view her as the equal of 'Place des Vosges.'
rd pick: #5 (Sweeter Than Candy) (10-1) - Long shot has some late punch and enters off an even and troubled effort Aug 15. Only 2-back of 'Margaret Reay' in her previous start and she should enjoy this longer distance.
th pick: #3 (Redheads Rule) (12-1) - Lightly-raced and improving, daughter of 'Big Brown' missed by a 1/2 length here at this level going a mile Aug 15. It was a career best and came fresh off a 5-month layoff. Must be left in the mix.
th pick: #8 (Dreamologist) (7-2) - Heavily bet when debuting in a 6-furlong dirt race here July 16, daughter of 'Tapit' finished a solid third to a pair of talented fillies. Training fast, she moves to the turf and stretches out in distance.
