In his debut at this level and distance July 6 at Los Alamitos, he was beaten a length in a swiftly run contest (1:10.20). His trainer (Mike McCarthy) has had a great meet 31-8-6-3 and this son of "Quality Road' is a win candidate.
3rd pick: #9 (Way Gone) (5-2) - The third member of the win mix hails from the Baffert barn. Four-year-old showed fine early speed when debuting here July 23 and held his position until the final 1/16th. Working fast since and a win candidate.
4th pick: #12 (New Dancer) (15-1) - NEW gelding cost $360,000 and is switching from grass to dirt while shortening up in distance. From the same barn (Phil D'Amato) as 'Towards the Light', he's working fast but draws a very difficult post at this 6 furlong distance.
