He set a very quick pace before tiring late in the long stretch there. Freshened up since Sept. 17, he's working fast and runs with blinkers on. He'll be tough in this spot.
2nd pick: #1 (Insubordination) (7-2) - Blinkers go on 4-year-old who is moving from grass to dirt while shortening up in distance. Gelding has been competitive at this level on the turf several times and is a late threat from his inside post.
3rd pick: #2 (Wild Lando) (5-2) - Colt has been on the sidelines since March 2. He finished second here that day sprinting against $50K state bred maidens and has been training steadily for his return. Trainer Phil D'Amato has apprentice Roman aboard and he's won the riding title in the last three meetings on the So. California circuit. An obvious threat if ready.
