Top pick: #2 (OLIVIA'S GREATDANE) (2-1) - Daughter of "Ghostzapper' sold for $420,000 this past March at Ocala and is in the barn of Bob Baffert. Filly rallied from far back to finish second going 6-furlongs at Santa Anita when debuting on Sept. 28. Freshened up since, he has her working fast and has her stretching out in distance and racing on a synthetic surface, both for the first time.
2nd pick: #5 (Conquest Superstep) (8-5) - The probable favorite, filly saved ground and rallied to finish second going 8.5-furlongs on the Santa Anita dirt on Oct. 24. $250K daughter of "Super Saver" is an obvious win candidate if she handles the "poly" surface.
3rd pick: #3 (Scattagirl) (4-1) - She raced evenly following a slow start when going "down the hill" on the Santa Anita grass when debuting 23 days ago. She's worked since, switches from turf to "poly," and stretches out around two turns. It's a big plus that Bejarano stays aboard.
4th pick: #6 (Show Stealer) (5-1) - No-speed type is working well for her first since late Sept. Unless there's a quick and/or contested pace, a small slice is her ceiling.
