Top pick: #9 (HE'S A DANCE STAR) (5-2) - Gelding is on the also-eligible list and may not get in. However, if he runs, this hard hitter (12-4-2-5) is working fast for his first since June 0f 2012 and also holds a bit of a class edge on these.
2nd pick: #2 (Field Report) (3-1) - Stalker has finished second in both starts at this meet and each has come at this level and distance. Obvious contender is in shape and the choice if "Star" doesn't scratch in.
3rd pick: #7 (Free Time) (6-1) - Speedy sort draws outside of the pace if "Star" doesn't run and gets a positive rider change to "P. Val." Blinkers go on and this veteran is a strong threat to win this.
4th pick: #5 (Toledo Eddie) (7-2) - He tries hard every time out and comes into this off a rallying second-place finish here at this level and trip on Aug. 9. Can factor, but needs to do a bit better at "crunch" time.
