Top pick: #10 (BURNING) (3-1) - He's lightly raced and improving heading into this contest. Stalker stretches out in distance after finishing third here at this tag going seven-furlongs July 20. That was a career best, and trainer Hollendorfer replaces apprentice Van Dyke with Bejarano. The horse to beat.
nd pick: #4 (Justa Splash) (5-2) - The "morning line" favorite, he just missed here at this tag going 6.5-furlongs on Aug. 1. It was his first since debuting on March 22 at Santa Anita and his first on a synthetic surface. Grey gelding cost $410K in April of 2013 and is an obvious win candidate from the Baffert barn.
rd pick: #5 (Money Fan) (5-1) - He ran evenly here at this tag & trip July 17 in his first back from a two month break. Fits on "figures," and the faster the pace, the better his prospects.
th pick: #9 (Powerful) (6-1) - Gelding cost $1,400,000 and is offered up today for a $20K tag proving how tough a game this can be. He's only been competitive once in four starts, but the big drop in class should allow this 4yo by "A.P.Indy" to factor today.
th pick: #8 (Voluntary) (20-1) - Gelding has regressed in his last pair after being much sharper in his previous two starts. He has a bit of speed and may last for a small slice at a big price.
