Top pick: #6 (OUT OF THIN AIR) (4-1) - Lightly-raced filly set a quick and pressured pace before weakening here going a mile on the turf for a $40K tag on July 21st. The race was her first in two months and trainer Dave Hoffmans will be dropping her down to a new low, switching her from grass to "poly," and cutting her back in distance.
2nd pick: #2 (Giannonatti) (7-2) - Grey filly is very competitive (9-2-5-1), and all of her starts have come on synthetic surfaces. Last out she finished second at this level on June 30th at Hollywood and it was her first off a Genaro Vallejo claim. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #4 (Bluegrass Ellie) (10-1) - Speedy sort drops down a bit after tiring badly last out following a "bobbling" start. Trainer Jeff Bonde has worked her since and filly can be in this a long ways at a big price.
4th pick: #7 (Jesse's Giacomo) (4-1) - She goes first off a Cody Autry claim and last out rallied into a tepid pace to finish third, 3/4s of a length back of "Giannonatti," Daughter of "Giacomo" has some back class, a nice post at this trip, and the recently returned Pat Vvalenzuela is aboard.
