Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #10 (SELLWOOD) (7-2) - He's been competitive in all six starts and each has been on the grass. 3yo finished a solid second here at this level going a 1/16th farther July 18 and has worked four times since. Stalker gets top billing.
2nd pick: #8 (Henry County) (4-1) - One of two entered by trainer Rick Mandella, gelding raced evenly when finishing only a bit more than a length behind 'Sellwood' here July 18. Only his second start, it was his first on the grass, first around two-turns, and he was bet down to 3-1 favoritism in the 12 horse field. An obvious win candidate.
3rd pick: #6 (Noivo) (3-1) - NEW gelding has been freshened up since June 9 when he rallied to finish second of 12, beaten a 'neck' at this level and distance at Santa Anita. Irish bred import has been sharp in three straight and must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #9 (Blitzkrieg) (15-1) - Longshot is the second from the barn of Rick Mandella. NEW gelding has been a disappoint so far but showed early speed last out when blinkers were added for the first time. Maybe in front a long way at a big price.
